  About the Village:

The house is located in St Méard de Gurçon which is a small, unspoilt French village to the north of the Dordogne River, ten minutes from Ste Foy la Grande.

It is situated at equal distance between the Dordogne and Isle valleys, with their
magnificent rural riverside walks and cannoning, just 3 miles away.

From the main Ste Foy la Grande to Montpon road you see St Méard sitting on top of a small hill surrounded by fields.  It has a pretty stone church and has a beautiful hilltop position.

It is in a wine producing area which increases in concentration as you approach St Emilion, where almost every square metre supports vines.

There is a small village shop, hairdresser and newsagent for essential supplies and newspapers, two excellent restaurants, post office, tabac and two boulangeries with fabulous bread and gateaux. St Méard de Gurçon is a delightful little village.

It is well placed, with direct roads to Bergerac to the east (30 mins away), Montpon Ménésterol to the north (10 mins away), Ste Foy-La-Grande to the south, and (via Villefranche de Lonchat) to Castillion-La-Bataille and St Emilion to the west (30 mins). There is an autoroute link just 6 Km north of the village, running directly to Bordeaux (50 mins).
